Representatives of The Isle of Harris Knitwear Co and Luskentyre Harris Tweed Co with Willie Fulton (Captain) and Hugh MacLean (Vice Captain) with samples of Harris Tweed Jackets
This year's open championship is to be a special event in which we hope to have as many competitors as the course will allow. On offer to the winners of the various categories is our very own "green" jacket. Forget the Augusta Masters Jacket and come to Scarista where the very special prize is a jacket woven from the world famous Harris tweed.
The jackets are provided by our sponsors The Isle of Harris Knitwear Co who have entered into a five year contract with us to sponsor the event. The above picture shows tournament organiser and club vice captain Hugh MacLean trying on one of the jackets with the help of the knitwear co partner, Mairi Fraser. The tweed was specially commissioned and designed exclusively for the club by Donald John and Maureen MacKay of Luskentyre Harris Tweed Co. The competition is also sponsored by Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd.
