ISLE OF HARRIS
GOLF CLUB
At our AGM on Friday 25th January 2008 our long standing captain, Willie Fulton stepped down and Hugh MacLean was elected as the new club captain. Mal Hall was elected to the post of vice-captain, Ronnie Morrison re-elected as treasurer and Bryce Weir re-elected to the secretary's post. The committee thanked Willie for his many years of service and the club and indeed the wider community of Harris are indebted to him for putting The Isle of Harris Golf Club on the world map. His brainchild of inviting people to become life members of the club have attracted members from all over the world and an increasing number of these members visit Harris every year helping not only the golf club but also the island's economy. We are pleased that Willie is to stay on the committee as his knowledge, contacts and enthusiasm for the club will be invaluable to us. We are also pleased to welcome our new captain and vice-captain and look forward with confidence that their expertise along with the hard work and dedication of all committee members will ensure that our club will continue to grow and improve.
The 2007 season was another successful one for the club with many of our life members and an ever increasing number of visitors playing Scarista Golf Course.
The club's annual dinner/prizegiving was held in the Bays Community Centre in Leac a Li on December 1st and a list of winners is posted on the 2007 prizewinners page. 2008 fixture list will be posted on the website as soon as it is available.
