Scarista, on the west coast of the magical Island of Harris, is surely one of the world's finest settings for the game of golf. To the west, the Atlantic breakers thunder onto sparkling white sands. To the north lie the spectacular mountains of North Harris. To the south, the hills of the Uists lie beyond Toe Head peninsula.

Scarista Links was not designed by any famous person - it was designed by nature. It is a natural links course, formed by wind, sand, sea and land, requiring thoughtful and skillful play.
The most famous visitor so far has been Nick Faldo, who played here in the early nineties before heading for the Masters. He left a signed £5 note in the honesty box as his green fee. That fiver was glazed, framed and mounted and the Faldo Fiver is now competed for annually by Harris members. More recently Ronan Rafferty played the course and his golf ball has also been turned into a trophy.

BIRDIES - Gannets, lapwings, terns, oystercatchers, puffins, dunlin, curlew, golden plover and lots more are to be found in the area.
EAGLES - Raise your eyes heavenward after a missed putt and you might see a pair soaring high above Beinn Dubh to the north.
